Behringer BCR2000

Behringer BCR2000

My BCR2000

All you audio fags can talk as much shit on Behringer as much as you want, the BCR2000 is a Class A MIDI control and I'll rock it till i find something else worth buying.
There are so many controllers out there, and for the price that they go for none of them are worth it.
The BCR2000 is about 140.00USD NEW... And its full rotary, that comes with presets and is fully combatable with Ableton(my primary production/dj software), Reason, and Cubase(New industry standard)

Many will say as well.. if its good enough for Bangalter and Guy-Manuel then its good enough for them.

And i know it may seem like im always jocking daft punk and bangalter, but to tell you the truth.. it really is just a good control for the money.. if i had the money and the APC40 was available i would get it. But this will do for now.
I plan on posting video soon of me using the BCR2000 and Ableton together to make a set. Stay tuned.

Nike Dunk X Coraline.

Photobucket

Sometimes Nike comes out with some concept dunks that blow my mind. These dunks are based on the the new film coming out this winter called "Coraline". Created by the same people that did "Nightmare Before Christmas" it will be a great visual experience. With only 100 limited available, i only have two words to say to you. Good luck. (The cotton Candy makes them MORE exclusive... lol jk)

A Cross The Universe.

This is Justice's documentary about their life on tour and all the "crazy, wacky" antics they get into. It's a pretty decent watch, and since my friends have a new interest in my blog i think this will satisfy for the day. enjoy.

Cease & Desist.

Ok, im simply taking a video from John Carluccio's blog feed of his short he made about his friend Ari Forman. It looks amazing and once it comes out, every sneaker head i know will be exposed to this as long as i have the youtube embed. Enjoy this, it belongs right under the Apparel and Sneaker Link on the right. Oh, and theres a link for John Carluccio's blog as well, please venture on there as well and take a look at his art transcribed into film.

Cut Copy - Far Away ( Hercules & Love Affair Remix)

Ok, I LOVE Cut Copy, and I LOVE this song far away, and usually i'm pretty sketchy on remixes when i love the original so much. But I have to say this is a total exception.

I just got back from the kick off for the 2009 Guitar Center Dj Competition, Held in beautiful Covina, California. I feel like I should post something "scratch" related, and i want to but i can't find to many clips of "Battle Sounds" the documentary by John Carluccio. I want this movie SO bad.. but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I own "Scratch" the Doug Pray film, and "Hang the Dj" but no Battle Sounds. I found some pretty decent clips that might do the film justice so ill post those up tomorrow. CHEERS!

Akai APC40 + Ableton Live

The annual music product trade show NAMM (National Associations of Music Merchants) was held this year and oh did they come out with the big guns. One of my best friends Ryan some how, some way, sneaked in to the convention using a random Asian man's alias, or something along those lines. Music Merchants display their new products coming out for the upcoming year, this one being 2009. Since the products have not hit the shelves (so to speak) yet, it is a very exclusive convention that is invitation only. There where many interesting products that are worth blogging about (like the new Rane TTM-56S, and the Live[2] - Serato Scratch Live + Ableton software which i will be sure to blog about later, and of course, Ableton Live 8) But one in particular that caught my eye, and Ryan's at most.

Since i've started using Ableton, I've sucked huge balls. But now with a hardware MIDI controller i feel like things might get a little bit more convenient. Using a mouse to control the "knobs" on the operators and midi effects, and even the faders was really hard for me coming from a dj mixer hardware background. I've always wanted something more tangible and now i have it. The LED pads help you distinguish each clip and midi effect and the knobs help give expressions virtually to anything in Ableton. Since I've started making music as well now (arranging and composing tracks), I've always been a huge fan of Akai, and their MPC models. Taking the elements of both world is a marriage that was meant be consummated and create the APC40. Although Serato just came out with a new interface box, SSL 1.9 software and A new mixer.. i think people are going to start catching on to Ableton once they experience the flexability and production capabilities in a live setting from the software. Or, I could be wrong.

Refused Are Fucking Dead.

Refused were an AMAZING hardcore band from Sweden that reined underground hardcore champs from 1991-1998. So many bands site Refused for being a huge influence on their sound. For me, Refused in bodied everything that was punk, and hardcore, to the point where though they were a hardcore band, they bridged the gap between hardcore and punk.. because at the time, that was punk to them. The two genres mixing together was unheard of, they where both in their own respected rights, two separate elements in rock n' roll. Like Cream and Operation IVY, Refused broke up right at there peak. Refused made a documentary entitled "Refused Are Fucking Dead", and it is by far one of the rawest most well put together doc's by any band. Here it is divided into four parts, enjoy this very much because i did.
